What is on sale in Astana over the coming weeks — from Barys Arena and Astana Opera to the EXPO congress halls.
Astana was built together with its venues, and it shows: almost every large hall in the city is under twenty years old and designed for big formats. Barys Arena and Astana Arena take hockey, football and stadium concerts; the Palace of Independence and the EXPO congress halls take forums of several thousand delegates.
The cultural centre of gravity is Astana Opera, with its own opera and ballet companies, flanked by the Gorky and Kuanyshbayev drama theatres. Summer adds the programme on the Esil embankment and the Capital Day celebrations.
